Inside Mindset

Quick Write: I think I was born with a growth mindset, I say this beacuse people with growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Virtually all great people have had these qualities.

Final Reflection: As a student I see how teachers try to motivate us students. Teachers motivates us by telling us how great we did on our work or send an email to you letting you know how great your doing. Some teachers are so rough and actually make other students feel like a failure. Makes them feel like they cant do in class. I know i been through it. For example, Instead of screaming at a student why wont you just talk to him or her and ask them whats wrong.

  1. Praise for you for trying to catch up from home. We have now read chapters 2 and 3 as well. In chapter 3, read what Carol Dweck has to say about praise and mindset. She actually says it is much better for a teacher to tell a student they are doing better than to just tell them they did a great job. Lavishing praise on a student can put them into a fixed mindset because they'll worry about bringing their grades down by doing something wrong. Check it out. Very interesting. I hope I see you in class. Working from home isn't the same as seeing your bright, smiling face in class. Also, we are working on a major project this week before the marking period closes.
